Volunteer assignment

Volunteers can be assigned to committees in two ways. The assignment can be either on general or on timeframe basis.

If a volunteer is assigned on general basis the volunteer is assigned to a committee at a general level without specifying any time of assignment. This is typically volunteers who work full time for a committee and who are available throughout the games. Volunteers who are assigned on general basis cannot also be assigned on timeframe basis.

When assigning volunteers on timeframe basis a search page is used to find volunteers on basis of what they have entered on the registration form in terms of skills, available time, committee interests, task interests. When an eligable volunteer has been found this volunteer can then be assigned to perform a certain task for a given committe at the specified timeframe. When a volunteer has been assigned for a timeframe the volunteer will not appear on subsequent searches for volunteers available during that timeframe.

The systems can produce a list of all volunteers assigned to a given committee at a certain time.
